WOYWOD has been a family-run company right from the beginning. The generation change has already been initiated. The new generation has been integrated in all technical and commercial areas of the business. They will continue to drive the continuous
development of the WOYWOD company in the future - in the spirit of founder Reinhold Bollschweiler († 2018).
The company WOYWOD was founded by him as an engineering office for extrusion technology at the end of 1970 in Berlin.
On the basis of his detailed technical know-how from the thermoforming industry, he put the main focus of the WOYWOD company on the planning and sale of complex cast film and complete thermoforming systems.
Since 1980 the product range has shifted more and more to the current range of products by taking over the rights of PLASTICOLOR. In a modified form, the dosing units still form the heart of the modular PLASTICOLOR system, which is continuously being further developed.
A central location in the heart of Europe was chosen as the sales and administration location: Graefelfing near Munich. From there, parallel to the expansion of production, global sales were built up with a network of sales partners who help our customers locally with commissioning and maintenance.
Major parts of sales and administration are still operating from this location.
The increasing demand also required more space for production. At that time, Berlin was deliberately chosen as the production location in order to counteract the migration of the manufacturing industry from “West Berlin” at the time when Germany was divided. At this point in time, production was taking place in a typical Berlin commercial yard in the heart of Berlin. Gradually, storage, assembly, logistics and development capacities were built up and expanded from one to four floors.
In 2009, the production facility was relocated to Seefeld (near Berlin) in the state of Brandenburg, as the premises became too small for the permanently growing product range. Today WOYWOD has over 3,200 m² of production and storage space as well as approx. 1,000 m² of office space with the possibility of additional expansion. The new location also made it possible to set up a technical center for the further development of our products and for tests with various types of raw materials.
